Empire Cafe - Vichy

Very classic family place with small but interesting lunch menu and great quality food. We will be back, felt very welcomed.

We ate here last night, and it was certainly the best meal we’ve had in France this trip and possibly ever. Exquisite, light ravioles de ceps, soft and flavourful lamb, followed by riz au lait with nougatine and caramel. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff are friendly, with excellent English. You can see the chef and his two assistants working in the kitchen and their teamwork explains much about the success of the restaurant. When in Vichy, it is a must: but reserve a table it is very popular with the locals.

Just got in on time for lunch and how lucky! I have many dietary requirements but they couple couldn’t have been more helpful and I had fish followed by home made crumble. It was truly the best lunch I’ve eaten in a long time! Cooked perfectly with tasty sauce. Highly recommend but get in early. Very popular!
