Avaliação da contribuiçãoThe tuna tacos were fantastic. the lush puppies were fantastic. I'm not really a fan of hushpuppies, but they were amazing. that was very beautiful! it has a little dipping. the service was good. some of the others on the table had mixed drinks and said they were not worth the price. I would definitely go back!
Got into VB mid-day, in the rain and cold, blowing wind and decided to walk to Eddie's for a quick bite. The fried calamari was a cooked just a tad too long, and was over breaded, but still worth the price. Beer was name brand and surprisingly inexpensive for a resort town, but we were there before the season actually started. Our server, Viki, was fun to talk to, and very attentive to us, as well as all the other patrons. I cant speak to the whole menu, but just the view and the ambiance is worth the visit; its on a pier, over the water, in Virginia Beach, and serves beer, for crying out loud.
I always try to stop by Ocean Eddie's when I am visiting and have some of their amazing Seafood Chowder. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar immediately, since it was too windy outside on the deck. We ordered the Seafood Chowder, Blackened Shrimp Tacos and a Baby Gem Salad. The Chowder was awesome and the Blackened Shrimp Tacos were very good. My friend enjoyed her salad. The kitchen service was slow, but we were ok drinking our beers while enjoying the view and conversation. Our bartender was friendly and provided us impeccable service. We totally enjoyed our dining experience and will continue to visit every chance we get.
We waited at least 30 minutes while the staff walked around empty handed, laughed about how busy they were and generally showed no sign of urgency. Finally, someone I assumed to be the manager or the owner came in with another person so I assumed things would start to get organized. I was wrong. Now there are 5 or 6 people behind the bar (which is closed because they can't keep up) talking about the reservation made for later that day. Everyone was very excited about the 11 person party coming LATER. Then someone approaches the manager and says loud enough for everyone to hear I just got drinks for the table of 6. They said they'd waited 20 minutes and they're pissed Professional behavior? No. Now more talk about the reservation. Name? Phone number? What time are they coming? And then they seated people who came in after us without even asking. The couple they seated asked if we wanted to go first but by that time I was done. So disappointed. We left and went to Chix on the Beach and it was wonderful!!!
This place was such a pleasant surprise! The staff was so friendly and several people acknowledged or welcomed us as we came in. That was not the case for several other restaurants we tired in the area. Seated quickly. The service was great. The food- the food was AMAZING! Some of the best I have had in my life. From the seared fish to the hamburger to the key lime pie and calamari. Just so delicious. The view is, of course, great since you are on the pier. Inside decor is an older beach bar vibe. I can’t say enough great things about the whole experience. I never write reviews but this place was one of those places you eat a meal and never forget it.
