Sushi is delicious here at Sakatomo! We sat in the special seating in the back which was cool. The table sat low and you can take your shoes off, and relax on the colorful pillows! Staff is so nice and patient. The rolls were fresh and tasty. I really enjoyed the cucumber salad and seaweed salad. Ended the meal with mochi and loved it! Mochi flavors include green tea, strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, and mango. All the food is served with presentation, for example the plates have authentic Japanese designs and styles. We also were able to enjoy the fun music they were playing in the background. Parking is plentiful and area was quiet. I had an overall super nice experience at Sakatomo!
Sakatomo was great! I haven't eaten here since they were under previous ownership, but the experience was as comparable to before. We called ahead to see if they allowed emotional support animals, and they did so we were able to bring our sweet family doggo! Miso soup came with all of our orders, which was a pleasant surprise. The presentation of the food was cute and we appreciated the attention to detail. Our server was attentive and kind. The sushi came out slower than we'd like, but there was only one gentleman making the rolls and he did a great job. We will definitely be back!
This place is a hidden gem in hampton roads. By far the best sushi place, in my opinion—not only is it amazing quality every time, but it’s honestly a bit underpriced compared to other places in the area that don’t have the same quality. The chef(s) are incredible—and everyone is always SO nice when you come in. I’m a bit of an homebody and generally get the food to-go, but the place is so charming and quiet too. Beautiful and calming atmosphere. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing quality. I’ll rave about this place forever. Please check this place out. My pictures don’t do it justice but food is so pretty. Much love to this place.
The fam was craving ramen and sushi so we decided to try this spot. Reading yelp reviews, I knew going into it that service may be slow due to limited staff but food was worth waiting. We were welcomed and told to seat ourselves. We ordered calamari and takoyaki to start. Calamari dish surprised us because it also had deep fried egg. The calamari were nice, large cuts and not the traditional ones you'd find elsewhere. It was cooked perfectly with the right ratio of tempura crunch. Takoyaki was just as delicious.
