Avaliação da contribuiçãoCame here for lunch, ordered seafood basket and seafood was frozen food heated up although we did also order a fish and chips which was really good. Great view, serve average.
The best thing about this place is the view. Upon arrival a young man greeted us, took our name, picked up some menus and was about to show us to our table when a very bossy female stepped in, took over, and we started again from scratch! The lunch menus are quite limited. I don't know about you but on a cold, wet and windy day I'm not looking for a salad. After that there wasn't that much to choose from. The drinks menu also was quite limited however we managed to pick out a bottle of wine but were told they didn't have it. They also didn't have the beer the men selected. Are you getting my drift? No matter we ordered. The fish and chips was a joke. Entrée size and the fish was overcooked and dry. Our other meals were ok but nothing more than you could produce at home. I suspect the cook (and you couldn't call this person a chef I don't think) wasn't interested and probably wanted to be anywhere else but in this kitchen. The two stars were allocated as follows: 1 for the young man who tried his best despite the overbearing female he had the misfortune to have to work with and 1 for the view.
Had the pines breakfast with scrambled eggs, **** beautiful, coffee was great too, thanks we had a lovely view inside as it was windy and cold outside
The Pines, formerly known as the Jolly Frog, was a delightful surprise for our friend's birthday luncheon. Located overlooking the Dawesville Cut, the restaurant provided a stunning view of passing boats and fishermen below. Despite its limited lunch menu, our group of 13 was satisfied with their options, including a delicious Scotch fillet and a satisfying steak sandwich. The attentive waitress made sure to accommodate guests arriving at different times, ensuring everyone was able to enjoy their meals together. With plans to switch to an A La Carte menu soon, we look forward to returning to The Pines for another memorable dining experience with a view.
Dropped in at The Pines for a lazy Saturday morning breakfast, listened to some laid back jazz tunes and received excellent service from the manager/proprietor
