Located in a humble building near the railroad tracks just outside Robins AFB lies the home to some amazing fried chicken and sides. Three long tables are located in the dining area, and upon entering they'll sit you down wherever there's space available... right next to the people who came in just before you. Everyone from the patrons to waitstaff was friendly and cordial, with food being passed from person-to-person. While there were items I may have preferred over others, everything from the greens, mac+cheese, cabbage, fried chicken, and the (amazing) peach cobbler was great! At the end of the meal, just walk your plate up to the window, and be on your way... making room for the next group of new friends. Very thankful we stumbled into this place via a quick Google search, although I'm pretty sure plenty of the locals will recommend if you only ask.
The food was AMAZING. You basically have your choice of two dinners with all the fixings, but they're set out on the table. The day I went, they were serving fried chicken, boiled cabbage, Mac and cheese, potato salad, and buttermilk biscuits and baked ham, black-eyed peas, collard greens, green beans and corn pone. Sweet tea and ice water to drink. Banana pudding(!!!!! for dessert. The fried chicken was crispy and flavorful throughout. All the sides were well cooked and flavorful. And, oh my goodness, that banana pudding. I've never tasted the like, and my Aunt makes a pretty great one. Even the sweet tea was perfectly sweetened. The setting may not be for everyone, but I enjoyed it. There's only about 4 long trestle style tables, so you're sitting with a bunch of strangers. But if you're like me, they're not strangers by the time you leave. $10 a plate, drink included, and unlimited refills. And worth every penny. Go check it out. You won't be disappointed.
Fabulous food, southern style atmosphere and great home cooked vegetables and chicken, oh the Banana Pudding was to die for!
Great all you can eat southern food. The setting is different than what you're used to, but it's a great way to meet people. The price was very reasonable as well. I will visit again.
Simply put, you're not going to beat this quality and price. $10 for all you can eat and drink. If I could I would give 4.5 stars due to limited hours.
