Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe cannot rave about Sushi Nakazawa enough. The sommelier had a great variety of recommendations for sake and wine. The fish was fresh and the overall experience was superb. The staff was very attentive and was more than accommodating to our requests (ex: my gf wanted more sushi and they obliged). We have been here numerous times and we always look forward to our visit.
Great service and really beautiful food. Dropping a star because they add 3% for credit card purchases, which is such a juvenile petty decision at $150/pp. Especially given that they send out a very long email telling you how and when to arrive and what you should wear, but don't mention this little feature of their policy until you arrive. I don't carry around $600 in cash on a regular basis. This practice is really beneath a Michelin rated restaurant.
This place is pretty weird. Look, it’s expensive, but the price point is fine for high end omakase/sushi. The problem is that it’s not right.Literally it was just nigiri. Twenty pieces of nigiri, one after another. There is not a single serious omakase restaurant on this planet that would do this. Why.Now for the sushi itself. The toro course was nice. The anago was nice. There were some others that were good. But mostly they were very forgettable. The rice was wrong, not enough seasoning, and almost dry. The temp was wrong, all of the fish was too warm. They over used the blowtorch to “sear”, leaving that hallmark Bic lighter flavor that you get from boat sushi.Look, the meal wasn’t bad. If you take the toro out, it’s $30 sushi. With the toro $50.Maybe this is the best DC can muster, and if that’s the case… Oof.Give this a hard pass and save your money. Service was what you would expect from a place with a star, but food absolutely wasn’t.
Okay, this is by and far the BEST restaurant I have ever been to. I was struggling with my asthma and once explained to my waiter they suggested the best tea for my throat and in the time it took to take my inhaler they had a double strength brew ready at the table for me.Absolutely brilliantly lovely staff, my first experience with sashimi and I loved Every. Bite. I'm big on textures with my food and can't do the rubbery/super chewy (calamari is not my friend) and there were only two pieces out of I think 20 that I wasn't the biggest fan of--but purely for that reason because every flavor profile was out of this world.best experience I've had in a restaurant ever. I forgot to take photos. it was so good that I completely forgot about taking them and was solely focused on my meal after the first serving.Also--they put a candle in my dessert which was adorable, and there was no singing--thank freaking goodness.Dietary restrictions: I'm lactose intolerant and they made sure none of my dishes had dairy. Super respectful of dietary needs and they ask first thing before they put your order in.
This was my 5th time dining here at the sushi counter and the first time since a couple years ago. This was also the second lunch service I 've attended, the other two were dinner service, all at the sushi counter. This last experience, at the sushi counter for lunch was pretty disappointing. All the sushi we had were pre-cut on a plate ready to be served. The sushi itself didn 't taste as fresh as it did previously. Having been to many omakase, we know that the sushi counter reservations come with an experience that show cases the chef 's knife skills. Understanding that it 's lunch time, but since the price was the same at dinner, and having been here for lunch previous, the expectations should have been the same. From the moment we walked in (on time), we did not have the Michelin experience as we did previously. We booked in advance and mentioned out special occasion, but was asked again what we were celebrating upon entry. These details do play a part in your overall, and to end experience. Towards the end of the omakase, we were then just served the last 3 pieces back to back because they were getting ready for the next set of reservations though we came on time, we were still rushed to get out ASAP.
