Avaliação da contribuiçãoThis was our first time to visit and was recommended by a friend. We will never eat there again after witnessing a variety of food safety concerns. We went for breakfast but was told they ran out so had to opt for a lunch option....More
Visited the Dutch Mill Country Market on Saturday. Fruits and vegetables were all available for sales. Fashion clothing was selling well. Large crowd there for the lunch serving. Many were out at the petting area. There were two young ladies behind the counter prepared to cash you out. You have to take a second look as they were identical twins. Ose and Lisbeth were their names and they were born in Denmark. Very friendly. It was an enjoyable outing more so for women. They have buses coming in for tours.
The reason for our visit here was to attend a Celebration of Life. A charming venue out in the country; this place included a garden centre, a restaurant, a petting zoo and an emporium with many different items to look at. I want to come back and explore every part of this place at a future time.
My family visited the Dutchmill today. Looked forward to seeing everything they had to offer. The jams, jellies, art and in fact spent over $100.00. Boy I wish I had of held off on my purchase until after we had visited the animals. We all very quickly became concerned about the quality of water that they had available to drink as well as the living quarters. Looked to us that the feces, droppings from larger animals had not been cleared in quite some time. My husband grew up on a farm and was extremely concerned, sad to the see lack of care, attendance to these sweet creatures. We were actually out there for an hour and a half and saw not one person tending to the animals at all. Before leaving I spoke to one of the ladies inside at the cash register. Spoke quietly about our concerns, showed her a picture I had taken of the cesspool of drinking water. Unfortunately, she did not say More than it's cleaned once a day. SO NOT TRUE! She then walked away to roll her eyes. Shame on the Dutch Mill. I will go back to return my purchase and as well, and more importantly check the conditions.
The listing/hours need to be fixed! When they are open it is a fun spot. Line ups for breakfast which is there best meal. There are hotlunch and soup too with a small salad bar. Petting zoo and play area for kids. Friends drove two hours to meet us here so of course we are not happy.
