Fischrestaurant Arielle

The river views alone make this restaurant worth the visit, but the fish is great, too. There is a self-serve window where you can order, but, if you don't like having to make on-the-spot decisions in German, sitting in the à la carte section with...table service is easier. The views are just as good. There is a good beer selection. The chilled red-pepper soup was perfect for summer. I took a chance with grilled eel, and it was a great choice, well seasoned and well cooked.

We have eaten at this restaurant a number of times over the last five years and have always had delicious fish. The view over the lake is lovely and it is a pleasant cycle ride from Potsdam.

You do not need to eat here. The food did not look appetising and so we did not venture into ordering but spending an evening here with a few friends, on a beautiful summer's night will be an awesome experience. The wine was not that...great tasting and I always find this a pity for any restaurant in Germany because your choices of reasonably cheap and good wines are so huge. We did not find the service friendly and to be honest neither were the people that go there mostly uptight and stuffy. So having said all of this, if you want to go with a few friends to enjoy a lovely evening then this could be the place. With that beautiful setting, you gotta make it your own and to hell with the people sitting around you.

In Arielle you can either sit inside and order, or take any fish you want from the window counter and sit out on the balcony. They smoke the fish on the spot, all the time during summer time. It's delicious! Brandenburg tradition at its best.

We had a memorable anniversary dinner here. Table had been decorated and every effort was made to make us feel a bit special. Great service, delicious meal and well advised by the waiter re food and wine. On the deck area families were happily enjoying...the busy waterside boats and having an evening drink. Relaxed and unpretentious.
