Zum Eselskrug - Wernigerode

For many years I have always visited here when I have eaten in Wernigerode. Unfortunately, it is currently closed and looking for more data, it looks as if it is not temporary (like holidays). Who knows? The buildings/fittings are all still intact and I suspect that the closure is new. My assessment is from previous visits (as must be completed).

Beautiful location next to the intersection on the HSB, good reception, pleasant ambience, what else could you want? Instead we enjoyed a great lunch of pan-fried liver, potato and onion engraving. Spotless toilets, in fact immaculate everything and a reasonable bill of €52.80 for lunch, dessert, beer and hot drink.

We had dinner here Walpurgisnacht Eva when it swung with a very lush crowd. The waitress was pleasant and we sat right in the door. The menu contains a fascinating history of the place and an extensive hearty German meal. The inner section seemed to be reserved for large groups and the place was very busy. My chicken carving was good, but a little tricky. My partner's goulash was very good. The food, the atmosphere and the wine combine to a pleasant evening.

Waren hier schon mehrere male essen und sind immer wieder begeistert. Die rustikal, alte Einrichtung gibt dazu das richtige Ambiente. Das Essen schmeckt immer sehr lecker und es ist für jeden was dabei. Über Fisch bis Fleisch kann man alles empfehlen. Auch die kleinen kommen auf ihre Kosten und Kinderportionen sind gar kein Problem.
