We chose Fireside Inn in Nashua, NH for the convenient location near my husband's work conference the fact that they allowed dogs. We were first put in a room (149) that smelled like something had died. Literally. This was an interior room, so no way to open a window and get fresh air in. The hallway smelled like cat urine. We were then switched to a room (145) that was better, but still had a weird scent, and was still in the interior wing of the hotel so no window to the outside. These rooms were not sound proof so you could hear every person walking through the hallway. We thought we could deal with it until we realized the door didn't lock on our way out to dinner. When we requested a refund they said they were unable to make a refund due to using an online provider. It took them over an hour to figure out what to do with us. Fix the door, not fix the door, put us in a room where pets aren't allowed or not? I wanted out but we couldn't get a refund or find another available hotel room so we were stuck! They moved us again this time to room 103, and even helped us move. It's the least they could do! By now, this is the 3rd room in two nights. We were not pleased! The final room was fine, larger (handicap accessible) and didn't have a weird smell, and had a window to the outside. The ceiling in the bathroom had water spots and looked grimy. The shower head was half the height of a normal shower head (again due to handicap accessible, which we did not need), causing my husband to hit his head on a shelf in the shower. Worst hotel experience ever. Sure it was a great location, but there won't be a next time for us!
I have nothing bad to say about the fireside. Rooms were clean and staff was always friendly! I would for sure stay here again! The only thing is I like trying different local hotels all the time if I stay in a place multiple times, but if I did stay in Nashua again I would deff come here again. The breakfast was good, loved the hard boiled eggs haha. Everything was always stocked and they had great juice choices. I like the microwave and the mini fridge in the room those were nice add ons. The cleaning staff was attentive to needs and never entered the room if our do not disturb sign was up which was courteous. I didn't try the 99 but I hear good things about it from my sister and her boyfriend and anyone I know in the area. All in all it was a lovely hotel and the area it was in was perfect being close to main roads and highways.
My husband and I are truck drivers. My family lives close by. We were regulars. I usually rent a car several days during my stay. I was going to reserve a week around Easter. But never again, drove 16 miles in snowstorm to another hotel. Front desk is so rude today on the phone, never had a problem before. Usually so nice, not sure what happened but front desk just about accused me of being dishonest about how many dogs I bring with me. I have one 8 lb. Chihuahua. They must have a problem with people sneaking their dogs in. So sad loved eating with my family at the 99 during our stay.
I booked this through booking.com. It got decent reviewsWas working late in a film and had a local print job so decided to stay over. I arrived super late to the smell of smoke and a clearly drugged out and disoriented woman. Place reeked of smoke. I almost left but it was almost 1:00 am. I got to my room and the woman above was staying in the room right next to mine. Room was about 95degrees. I started to unpack then trusted my gut and got the hell out of there. I felt unsafe. Now that I'm reading about bed bugs on Yelp I am so thankful I went around the corner to a Holiday Inn!!!
