Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe had a large group for a bachelorette weekend and made reservations at this restaurant. They seated us at a large round table, which was perfect for conversation. There was no cocktail menu available, but they had a full bar. The menu offered typical Italian dishes. I ordered the farfalle bellavista pasta, which was half in a red sauce with sausage and half with broccoli rabe in garlic and oil. The food was a bit bland for my taste - not bad, but not very memorable. I felt the prices were a bit high for the quality. The restaurant was quiet and not very crowded. I liked that they had outdoor seating by the water, but unfortunately we couldn't sit out there as a group. The service was good and the ambiance was dimly lit. We all left feeling a bit sleepy because of the low lighting. The music inside was nice. Overall, I probably wouldn't go back if I visited again, but it was okay for a quick dinner.
No surprise that Casa Basso came through with a great 4th of July dinner. Soft shell crabs were the hit of the evening, with two veal dishes a close second; the usual starters; and Italian white and reds as recommended by the helpful server. Outside lights were turned off for the fireworks display over the canal.
I went to this restaurant with a large group on a Friday evening and was surprised to find that we were the only guests there. It may have been the off-season in Westhampton, but I was impressed by the excellent food and service. The restaurant has a classic and traditional look with professional staff and Frank Sinatra playing in the background. The special menu was enticing and the waitstaff made it clear which regular menu items were not available. We started with shared appetizers and most of us ordered from the specials menu for our main courses. The food was all well-prepared and presented beautifully. I personally ordered the fire-roasted, crispy-skinned Branzino, which was absolutely delicious. The rest of my party enjoyed well-prepared Fillet Mignons, Sirloins, Chicken Scarpiello, and Chicken Parmesan. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and felt that the prices were very fair considering the quality of the food and drinks. We will definitely be back.
Arvada Basso serves excellent food with great sauces that are fresh and tasty. The portion sizes are generous and we always have enough for a second meal. The chef is clearly skilled and we are loyal customers who are never disappointed with our dining experience.
I have been meaning to come back here for years. I last was here as a kid with my family almost 60 years ago. I essentially moved away after getting out of the service in 1978 but with family and friends still in the Center Moriches area, I have been coming back several times a year since. I moved back full time in 2021 and finally came back last night with a friend who had never been here but wanted to try it for awhile as well . I could not have been happier. It was great! food and service was excellent, and with generous portions. We had the poached salmon with a dill sauce appetizer (sorry started to eat it before taking a picture), I got the grilled swordfish steak, my friend got the veal milanase (no picture), both with side salads and a pasta or broccoli dish. I had the tiramisu desert and cappuccino, friend got chocolate ice cream. The app was great especially with the sauce. The swordfish was amazing and a huge piece. I think the only way it could have been fresher is if I saw them take it off the fishing line. It was among the top 3 swordfish steaks I have ever had, that includes some from a friend of the family when I grew up who caught it and we saw the whole fish before he cut us some steaks, and once at a small seafood restaurant on a small island (Kos) in Greece while there for a family wedding. I couldn't tell you which was the best of the 3....all on the same level!! My friend enjoyed his meal as well. The tiramisu was good as well. It wasn't like a standard recipe but still good!! This place is dripping in old school ambience. If you're looking for a modern, swank or bright open industrial feel place don't come here. It is true to its roots and feels like you are stepping back in time to a fine dining experience!! The outside of the restaurant grounds is amazing with the statues and castle building. The inside just adds to that mystique and experience. I recommend it and will be back again soon!!
