Disgusting smell, hair in the ice cream display freezer, and the old lady at the counter gave an unsolicited lecture on using credit cards ???

Years ago, this was my go-to place. The sweet old lady who runs the store would recognize me and my friends and we would be able to have a conversation with her about ice cream and what we were studying for in college.I recently came back for the first time since the pandemic started and smiled to see the same old woman running the store. However, when I spoke to her, I was met with a completely different woman. She was very rude at checkout, complaining about how me using my credit card would cost me extra transaction fees. Do you LIKE paying extra transaction fees? she had asked multiple times aggressively.My friends and I got kiddie scoops, the smallest size they offer (which is still two fat scoops of ice cream), and she also complained about how it was morally wrong for us to want to buy kiddie scoops since they are meant only for children . I thought she was joking, since she joked a lot with us when we had come years prior, but she was dead serious. She then went on about how they were thinking about banning adults from the option of getting a kiddie scoop .This conversation and the giant Trump supporter posters have left a bitter taste in my mouth for what was once my favorite ice cream establishment. Rather than leaving the 1 star rating that it now deserves, I am leaving 3 stars in honor of the years of good, affordable, ice cream I had as a broke youth, but like many good things, I think it is time for Tasty Treat to shut its doors for good.If someone knows the owners personally, please help them get a mental health check-up, I think their age is showing with a lot of the reviews I have read from the past couple months.PS. I am an Asian-American, my ethnicity may have affected her judgment of me and she may not have recognized my face due to the facemask I was wearing. However, that does not make it right to treat a customer that way.

My brother raved about this little ice cream shop...so I took mom& he was absolutely right! We had Almond Joy ice cream in a waffle cone...yum yum yum!!! The owner is so sweet greeting the kids who came in while we sat there enjoying our cone. We will definitely go back again!!! This little shop is well worth the ride. Enjoy and you're welcome

Wow. I have nothing to say but wow. I am a Minority and my whole family are minorities too. I can’t believe all these reviews saying that this amazing old woman is racist. That’s awful. She has always given my family the upmost respect and care since I was a child. I’m now a grown man and will be taking my nieces to get some ice cream today. They don’t deserve this hate at all, they have always been super nice to me. Also so what if she has trump merch? It’s her property and she can do what she wants. Don’t like it? Go somewhere else, but that doesn’t mean they deserve a 1 star review just because they have different political ideologies. (I’ve Shame on all of you. Bless the family that own Tasty Treat, I will continue to support this business.
