Charming location on historic 3rd St. in downtown Geneva. The vegan queso is amazing and often is sold out. It's about $8 for a small container. There is a daily assortment of vegan bakery items such as large cookies. Vegan bakery items are labeled with colored dot stickers. They also offer vegan tamales in the cooler, 3 for $9. Also everything here is 100% gluten-free. This was previously a co-op bakery but recently they changed and they get everything from a wholesale( bakery off-site. However, they’ve added to-go refrigerated vegan entrees from Atlantis Vegan Grill so you can pick up lunch or dinner along with vegan deserts from the bakery case. My husband got me seven different types of vegan cupcakes from here for my birthday and they were all absolutely delicious. This store is a co-op and eye candy makes the cupcakes.
If I could give this bakery a negative rating, I would. I am writing this review for my high school reunion. I had ordered a mini wedding cake for the occasion a month in advance. I paid almost $60 for the driest, overly dyed, and unattractive cake. Despite providing a picture and discussing details with the baker, the cake still turned out poorly. When we picked it up, I immediately expressed my disappointment, but since my event was the next day, I reluctantly accepted it. My mother wanted to purchase some other baked goods from the bakery, and even though we were unsatisfied with the cake, the baker gave us two items for free without us even asking. However, things took a turn for the worse when the baker suggested that if I didn't like the cake, she could sell it to someone else. I had already paid for the cake and was shocked by her response. She didn't offer a refund and seemed to be selling my cake out of spite. I requested a simple design (which she had done countless times before) and was disappointed by the result. The only reason I didn't leave a tip was because of my mother's persuasion. On top of everything, the baker claimed she could make the cake dairy-free, but I suspect she only used water instead of almond milk as promised. I will never return to this bakery and have warned others to avoid it as well. I should have made my own cake or ordered from a different bakery, as even the restaurant's cakes are better than what I received here.
The vegan cupcakes at this restaurant are amazing, and occasionally they have delicious vegan cookies. They offer a good variety of vegan desserts and a tasty vegan queso dip. The kitchen is shared, but the owner and staff do not specialize in making vegan items and seem uninterested in answering vegan-related questions. When attempting to order a cake, I was given a confusing sheet with no instructions or pricing, so I ended up leaving without placing an order.
