Avaliação da contribuiçãoFood tasted ok. Menu options were typical. I expected unique dishes and flavor because of the fine dining experience but there is nothing spectacular. However, the ambience and staff were amazing! It’s a quiet place. Perfect for a date night. Romantic.
**Dinner Review** Perhaps since we had breakfast there, we didn’t feel the right ambiance for our sixth wedding anniversary dinner. We noticed that we were quite overdressed, while many diners were dressed very casually. Despite mentioning our anniversary to the hostess and waiter, it didn't seem like anyone acknowledged it, which was disappointing. I wish we had chosen another restaurant for such a special occasion. My husband ordered the lamb loin, which was pretty good, while I had the seafood chowder. It tasted fine but lacked presentation, with the green oil on top looking rather messy. My elk tartare was excellent and stood out as my favorite dish! We skipped dessert because everything looked too heavy and unappetizing, although I did see some desserts on other tables that looked tempting.
Wonderful experience with the 3-course Fall dining special. We were seated in Markus' section and he was an amazing server! Really down to earth but professional. They were able to accommodate our vegan diet. The food was delicious and we couldn't make it thru the main course!
I wanted to share my experience from last night, which was quite disappointing. I've stayed at this hotel several times and have never faced such a poor experience before. I had been looking forward to a lovely dinner at the Wildflower, but it quickly became apparent that it would not be a pleasant evening. From the start, the hostess—who I believe was a manager, a tall brunette—was unfriendly and seemed disinterested in being there. We were seated at a nice table for four, as we were joined by friends who were there to surprise us. The waiter initially seemed decent, but he could benefit from a better understanding of the featured menu. We ordered three margaritas and one mule, which apparently was a challenging task as there were only about thirty patrons in the restaurant. It took 13 minutes to receive our drinks, and to be honest, they were quite subpar. The bartender might need some help. We then ordered appetizers and main courses. My wife chose a well-done steak, while I ordered scallops and short ribs. The scallops were actually quite good, but when the mains arrived, we encountered a problem. My wife’s steak was cooked medium-rare instead of well-done. When we informed the waiter, he seemed surprised and promised to rectify the issue. Unfortunately, after waiting for 7 minutes with the rest of us starting to eat, her steak returned to the table a further 12 minutes later. By that time, my wife had essentially eaten alone, and we didn’t even receive an apology from anyone—only the tall brunette who delivered the steak. To make matters worse, we sat for a long time without drinks because the waiter preferred chatting with his colleagues over attending to customers. We decided to leave as quickly as possible, so we requested the bills, which we split between the two couples. I was shocked to see that my wife’s steak was still on the bill. At any other restaurant, this would typically be removed entirely or at least discounted, especially considering the circumstances. This is meant to be a fine dining restaurant, yet the chef couldn’t even cook a steak properly. As for the service at the Mallard, it was equally disappointing. The waiter was terrible. I encourage you to ask the bartender how many complaints were raised that night. I've frequented other Fairmont properties but have never encountered such abysmal service. I urge you to speak with your staff and educate them on customer service standards. I expected far better service, especially after spending $1,000 in the same hotel throughout the day. I sincerely hope someone from Fairmont will reach out to me this week. Thank you.
Amazing breakfast buffet. As great as the food is, the staff and service set it apart. Great omelet chef and our server (Mark) was phenomenal. Super attentive, thoughtful, and great attention to detail.
