Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe dine at KB several times a year. Most recently, we celebrated my birthday dinner there. Although KB may not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking of a family restaurant, the staff are excellent with children. The service was welcoming and attentive, and the food, as always, was fantastic. We ordered crab cakes, duck, grilled cheese for the kids, and seafood bucatini.
We came here for an anniversary date and had a really amazing time. The interior ambiance is classy and romantic, with a little candle sitting on our table. Although the menu isn't particularly large, it offers a wide variety so we had a difficult time deciding what to order. It also changes often so we would be interested to return in a few months and see the new menu items. We started with the Oysters which were great. With the mignonette and horseradish it offered a lot of interesting sensations while we ate it. My partner ordered the Ontario Veal T-Bone Steak. We were first impressed by the size of the steak, and then again by the taste and texture. It was cooked perfectly and we savoured every bite. We loved the green beans; they were fresh, crisp, and very flavourful. I ordered the Jumbo Tiger Shrimp, and I was shocked by just how jumbo they were. These were the biggest shrimp I have ever seen by a significant margin. I loved the rice, which offered a wide range of flavours with peppers, beans, and chickpeas. I had absolutely no complaints about the food here, I loved every bite. The service was a little bit slow, but I've got no issues with the chef taking their time when they make food this amazing. We'll be back here again for sure!
Fabulous food great use of ingredients. Service is excellent and not pushy. Great place!
Thanks KB foods for an amazing 5 course take home New Years meal. We started with an earthy soup, then a wedge salad, followed with very tasty dumplings.. with amazing mains. I had the beef and my wife had the vegetarian dish. We saved room for the chocolate desert that was heavenly. During these crazy Covid-19 times it was very limited in terms of what restaurants in the Durham region were doing a special takeout for New Years. We have young kids so we had to do New Years at home so appreciate the option that KB offered. This was our second year that we took the KB New Years offer and maybe next year we can dine indoors!
Went here for Sunday Brunch and it was delicious with great service. Went back for dinner and it was quite disappointing. The service was slow, the food was mediocre at best. I had the sweet potato crusted catfish. The sweet potato crust was very mushy which was a turnoff. The fish itself, for someone who loves seafood, was borderline not edible. I only ended up eating half the fillet just so that I wouldn't be hungry. The bruschetta was okay but nothing special. I may go back again and give this restaurant another chance for dinner but it will not be any time soon. For the pricing, there are much better options in Whitby.
