Avaliação da contribuiçãoVisited during a lunch period, there was an offer for 2 courses £7 or 3 courses £9...now some might say at that price you can't really complain but in my opinion we just don't enough as we just settle and accept. Minestrone was our starter and evidently was straight from a tin, I ordered plaice, new potatoes and as the veg was peas! I opted for a salad instead, the plaice came in breadcrumbs was over cooked so I removed the crumbs to have a misley 2 fork mouthfuls only of fish, the salad was 1x slice of cucumber and a slither of tomato not even worth putting on the plate as was 3x tiny new potatoes. My partner had liver and bacon which was ok although the gravy was really runny, needless to say we didn't bother with a pudding. Staff were polite and fact the tables had white linen tablecloths and fresh roses on was nice shame the food was such a let down.
Booked this hotel as somewhere to stay due to a day trip to Longleat. Firstly, its an old building (300 years) so has character e.g squeeky floorboards and sloping floors/walls and unfortunately does not really have a car park although you are allowed to park...
Smelly, old, badly maintained. Just awful! Dirty carpets, chipped paintwork. The food should not be forced on anyone.
We had our Wedding reception here in 2012 it was brilliant.Went back to find the wonderful menu changed to a pizza parlour type. We were gutted and hope they soon realise their mistake. that's the problem when different people take over. Maybe someone will rescue this lovely hotel soon
Bruschetta starters were excellent. Main courses were all superb great Italian flavours and presentation. This place is a little gem that seemed under utilised when we were there. Would highly recommend
