Avaliação da contribuiçãoI decided to stop by this restaurant one night on a friend's recommendation. It turned out to be karaoke night, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. There was plenty of cozy seating, perfect for groups of any size. The food was decent and the staff was extremely friendly. I definitely plan on visiting this spot again!
The food at this restaurant is truly incredible. I've only been twice, but each time I have been, the food has been outstanding. The bacon cheese fries are absolutely delicious and the portion sizes are very generous. The prices are very affordable, especially considering the portion sizes. Although the service is a bit slow, it's definitely not the worst I've experienced. I highly recommend this place!
I have dined at this restaurant on numerous occasions and have always been pleased with my experience. The food is not fancy or gourmet, but rather delicious homemade fare. They offer classic dishes like toasted fried egg sandwiches and Denver omelets that are hard to find on other menus. The homemade soups are consistently tasty. Overall, this place never fails to satisfy me.
Went there with a business colleague for lunch, and the experience was so so at best. The place is 85% pool hall and bar, with a small dingy restaurant up front. The food portion was quite large, but the quality was weak. I had a chef salad, and the shredded chicken (maybe turkey?) That was on it was very dry and bland. The salad was served in a large plastic bowl that was too small for the serving so trying to mix in a salad dressing was impossible. It was also way too light, so the bowl wanted to tip every other bite. The people were friendly, and the service was good. Couldn't tell how clean it was because it was so dark, but that makes me suspect it wasn't very clean to start with. They had regular come and coke zero, but no diet coke. Not a big deal, but kind of odd to not have the second most popular coke product on hand. Overall I wouldn't run away from the place but I would always suggest looking somewhere else first. Too bad because the location is perfect and there are no large competitors for them in the area.
My wife and I stopped in for lunch after arriving back in Winnipeg after a three week holiday that took us to Toronto, Fort Lauderdale, The Caribbean, Niagara Falls and area and home again. I have been to Alfie's on several occasions with a friend for lunch but have never done a review before. The lunch special is always a good deal and is under ten dollars. The special allows you to have a tossed salad, fries, Caesar salad, or soup. I have had the Thai chili wrap, Clubhouse, and the burger on other occasions. All the soups I have had have been very good. Today the special was a cheeseburger and fries or tossed salad for $7.99 or with soup or Caesar salad for $8.99. I chose the cheeseburger and Caesar salad. My wife ordered the Monte Cristo. The portions are good. The Caesar salad has real pieces of bacon in it, not bacon bits. The lettuce was fresh and I enjoyed the dressing. The burger appeared to be homemade, was moist and tasty. My wife said the Monte Cristo was very good. The restaurant is divided in three parts with the restaurant, billiards and lounge divided. It has always been busy when I have gone. There were two servers today and they were kept busy. Our order was taken quickly and our food arrived in an acceptable amount of time.
