Avaliação da contribuiçãoHow often we must have passed this restaurant without notice. it is directly on the main road in barmen and has been there for years. but I still search for the best pizza in wuppertal, so I found it on the internet and... decided to try it. Despite being unnoticed from the outside, the interieur is inviting. the origin of the owner was abandoned by some Sicilian puppies hanging around. the owner is a chattering and friendly little man, proud of it, born in the same for the cook apparently. the young guide the restaurant that is not huge, therefore manageable. we ordered a house wine that was very drinkable. then a pizza capricciosa and a steak with a cognac garlic tomato sauce. the pizza was nice, crisp and tasty: I had much worse, but it still did not make the tip of the steak, a bit overcooked for a medium, but good quality meat: oh my gott the garlic! we love both garlic, but that was a glue or too many! very little selection at desserts (cassata or finished), so when I asked for a limoncello, the owner beat a limoncello-semifreddo, i.e. he poured abundant amounts of limoncello on a bindi halffreddo. so together, apart from the garlic, no bad experience. the place could earn a second chance to try some of the pastas.
How many times we must have passed this restaurant without noticing it... it's right on the main street in Barmen and has apparently been there for years... but I'm still looking for the best pizza in Wuppertal, so I found it on the internet and decided to give it a try. Despite remaining unnoticeable from the outside, the interior is welcoming. The origin of the owner was given away by some sicilian puppets hanging around. The owner is a chatty and friendly little man, proud of being born in the 40s... same for the cook apparently. The 2 guys run the restaurant, which is not huge, therefore manageable. We ordered a house wine, which was very drinkable. Then a pizza capricciosa and a steak with a cognac / garlic / tomato sauce. The pizza was nice, crunchy and tasty: I had much worse, but it still didn't make the top 5. The steak, a bit overcooked for a medium, but good quality meat: oh my God the garlic!! We both love garlic, but that was a clove or 3 too many! Very little choice of desserts (cassata or ready-made), so when I asked for a limoncello, the owner suggested a limoncello-semifreddo, meaning he poured copious amounts of Limoncello on a Bindi semifreddo... that satisfied my Limoncello crave. So all together, apart from the garlic, not a bad experience... the place might deserve a second chance to try some of the pastas.
