Avaliação da contribuiçãoTa Wan is a Chinese restaurant inside the Malioboro Mall in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The restaurant seating was comfortable and quiet in this Friday noon time. The waitstaffs were friendly and attentive. The menu presentation was good and clear. The Fish, Salted Thousand Years Old Egg Porridge was good flavored but kind of too thick. The Ta Wan Special Crispy Fried Chicken was surprisingly good. It had a traditional salt pepper flavor. It was a bit dry. The Braised Cai Meo with Salted Fish was a vegetable dish but it lacked the traditional Chinese spirit. There was no noticeable salted fish in that dish. The vegetable itself was fresh. As a traditional Cantonese, I was happy to find this restaurant in this part of the world. Ta Wan means Large Bowl in Chinese
The foods are over seasoned, its extremely salty to the point that I repulsed when I took a bite. The rice are dried, not even warm. The size of the foods are ridiculously small for the price. Not worth your time and money. Also, I found hair on the food. Really disappointing.
The food isn't very tasty. It has a different flavor compared to other Thai restaurants in other cities, but the service from the waitstaff is good. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find two large flies on the table. I couldn't understand how they were able to get into the mall.
The staff at this restaurant are very polite and friendly. The porridge is delicious and the space is clean.
This restaurant is a cozy, laid-back spot with attentive service, but it is on the pricier side.
