Bären - Zug

Mein paniertes Schnitzel mit Pommes war super lecker und meinen drei Freunden hat ihr Essen auch sehr geschmeckt. Kann das Restaurant auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Die Lage gerade neben dem Bahnhof Zug ist perfekt.

Heute durfte ich wieder einmal bei Thomas speisen und geniessen. Essen war frisch gekocht und auf meine Wünsche bei der Gerichte Auswahl wurde eingegangen. Top.Danke ans ganze Bären Team.Bis zum nächsten Mal.

Bären in Zug ist immer eine gute Adresse wenn man in gemütlicher Umgebung gut Essen will. Preise sind doch eher im oberern Segment.

This is definitely a restaurant on my „to do“ list after I heard the story! Restaurant „Bären“ meaning grizzly (not Baren is a quite iconic institution in Zug. It is said that around 1900, when there was no „public transport“ WHATSOEVER! the then host put...small cups of liquor on the windowsill so the regional manufacturing workers after sometimes a more than an hour long commute on foot ingested a strengthening substance before turning up to work... Up until the owner imposed a smoking ban it was rather renowned as a traditional Swiss „Beiz“ with cigarillo smoking, card playing locals. The latest hosts and that s where it becomes interesting were Austrians from Salzburg. Now, you may not know the Austrian cuisine apart from the famous „Wiener Schnitzel“ but from own experience it is a sumptious, very rich and delicious cuisine. Why is it on my „to do“ list? Someone told me their steak is highly recommended and the cook confirmed that they are serving it on a „hot stone“ in different sizes (ladies‘ cut, regular and „Bären cut“ ;

Good place to visit if you would like to embrace the local kitchen. Nothing fancy, just good local food.
