Avaliação da contribuiçãoThe beef from the mansa was incredibly disappointing; even the accompanying curry couldn't mask its flavor. However, the nuggets were absolutely delicious, which bumped my rating from 2/5 stars to 3/5 stars. The purple drink I ordered (I can’t recall the name) tasted mostly like lime juice, earning a mere 2/10, if I’m being generous. The entrance was notably the worst part, as it felt confusing and out of place. On a brighter note, the waiting area was decent, and the atmosphere was really pleasant. My only complaint about the ambiance is the music selection; I think instrumental tunes would be a better fit for a Thai/Vietnamese restaurant than hip-hop. Overall, I’d give it 3/5 stars—it's decent, but I probably wouldn't return.
The food and drinks were outstanding and clearly made with attention to detail <3 The Tom Yum soup was absolutely delicious! The hardworking staff were not only kind but also incredibly friendly. They really came to my rescue during what could have been an awkward situation, and I’m forever grateful for their help.
I absolutely love the food at Basil Cafe! It's truly the best Thai and Laotian cuisine I've ever had. For the past four years, it has been my go-to restaurant, even though I have to drive an hour round trip just to dine there. However, over the last year, I've noticed that their portion sizes have significantly decreased while their prices continue to rise. Additionally, the prices listed online are lower than what they actually charge in the restaurant. Because of these changes, I've decided not to return. With extra charges for items that used to be included and the small portion sizes leaving me hungry, it's just not worth it anymore.
Be sure to check their hours, as they close for a few weeks during the summer. It's a good idea to make reservations. When you arrive, you'll find parking available on both sides. The tables are quite close together, which may be a bit cramped for some wheelchairs. The food is fresh, and be sure to ask about your preferred spice level. The service is prompt and attentive.
Basil Cafe is a place you try, like , then put in a favorites place to be happily discovered all over again! But the food and service is anything but forgettable. Like when you crave Asian, but want a way better meal than typical Chinese fare. Basil has a diverse and extensive menu that can be overwhelming on sit down. But the fun part is finding an unknown dish, and asking the staff for help....who, by the way, are very friendly and darn knowledgeable to help you. And the food: it 's authentic, flavorful and savory. Just be aware of the spicy dishes, because they are indeed! Portions are very adequate and many could be split if you 're an average eater. The place is clean, neat and comfortable too. Basil Cafe is a keeper for us, for sure!
