Avaliação da contribuiçãoI would not recommend this restaurant for vegans. Every time I have tried their vegan options, they have been disappointing - raw tofu, undercooked vegetables, and mediocre tortilla dishes. However, when the restaurant offered vegetarian options, the grütze and fried tomatoes were amazing and worth trying. I would give them three stars for those dishes.
We had to change our plans because the original restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. We decided to try out this place for brunch instead. When we arrived, we were a bit confused about where to go. We walked into what looked like a bakery and asked how things worked. We ordered our food from the menus provided and then found a seat with our flag. The staff was somewhat helpful but not completely. The food was good. I had the fried green tomatoes with egg and cheddar on toast with pimento cheese and pepper jelly. My partner had scrambled eggs, potatoes, toast, and grits. The grits were amazing! They were definitely the highlight of the meal. While I enjoyed the historic location of the restaurant, my overall experience was just okay. It's a unique place, but I would only return for the grits.
We got the vegan pumpkin bread for $2.25, which was perfectly moist and delicious. We got the gluten-free grit bowl with fried tomatoes, goat cheese and red pepper sauce. We added a fried egg for $1. The ingredients definitely made the bowl, because the grits themselves were very bland?nothing to write home about. Good amount of food though. The french toast special was blueberry french toast. It was very sweet and was definitely not enough for a meal, which is why we we were glad we got the potatoes on the side. The DK scramble on flatbread was delicious. It was a good amount of food, though I would have preferred more eggs in it. I was going to get the quiche special (goat cheese, tomatoes and spinach) for my meal, but we decided to get it for the whole table, and I?m glad we did because it wasn?t a whole quiche! It was maybe 1/4 of a quiche, which was not advertised. For $5, that wasn?t worth it. It was nice that I got a free coffee because I?m a teacher. They offer deals for teachers, police officers, firefighters, and others, so make sure to check out their website. The place itself is cute?wooden tables and chairs, art for sale and cute little decorations. One plus was there was not wait for brunch on a Saturday morning! We were all satisfied with our meals, but because some portions were small, I?m giving it 4 stars.
I can't believe I haven't discovered this place earlier! The quirky decor, cozy atmosphere, and welcoming staff all combined to create a fantastic dining experience. I wish I could eat here every day. I hope they add more options to their menu so I can definitely come back. I adore this restaurant. Thank you for the wonderful time!
I decided to stop by for brunch today and I must say, this place is absolutely delightful. I ordered a breakfast burrito and a cold brew coffee. The coffee was bold and flavorful, and the burrito was simply delicious with the combination of potatoes, eggs, cheese, and salsa. The only downside was that the restaurant was crowded and there wasn't a lot of seating available. However, if you don't want to wait for a table, you can always get your order to go. Despite the lack of seating, we ended up sharing a table with some other patrons and made some new friends along the way. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed.
