Evangeline Cafe - Austin

One of the best Cajun places in Austin. We had 2 appetizers, one of which was frog legs and they blew us away.

Lunch wit the hub. Pleased we stopped in. He ordered the Gumbo lunch special Chicken fried steak. I ordered the lunch special burger wit fries. All yummy. Good service. Btwn us about 20 bucks total. Stop in. Get in early as the place packs up. Will return to try further entrees.

I had her gold ___ Creole, it was delicious. I don't know what is authentic Cajun, so it can't say, but I can tell you that the food is delicious. Come back soon. Definitely a different interior environment than other Austin seats.

Such a clamp of the South Austin Creole kitchen! My recent visit I had the Wels dinner with dirty rice and it was spot in tasty! I never had a bad experience here and I wish I had visited the cafe more regularly than I did. A great place for a date/conversation too.

Oh, Lord, you have to eat here. It's my favorite place in Austin. Don't be stupid, eat here.
