Guevara's - Brooklyn

This review is for Guevara’s pop-up inside Mekelburg’s Market at Domino Park in Brooklyn, located at 319A Kent Ave. I have dined here once in person and ordered takeout twice. Each time I have noticed improvements and discovered new dishes that I enjoy. The first time I visited, they mistakenly made my chilaquiles with chicken instead of vegan ingredients, as they were still figuring out their vegan kitchen. Since then, I have tried the B.E.C sandwich, which I liked but found the king trumpet bacon to be chewy. The bagel with lox and vegan cream cheese was delicious, although I was not a fan of the red pfefferkeule. I also gave the chilaquiles another try and found them to be very good, although next time I would ask for less sauce as it was overwhelming. Unfortunately, they were out of empanadas on my last visit, which was disappointing. Nonetheless, I would give Guevara’s another chance. The staff at the Guevara stand were friendly and made me laugh. There was also a band playing lively Latin music outside, which added to the enjoyable atmosphere.

I have tried everything on the menu at this restaurant and it is all delicious! The tortas are excellent, the aubergine sandwich is bursting with flavor, and the desserts are even better than non-vegan desserts. The adorable pink and purple decor, along with the rest of the ambiance, are beautiful and create a welcoming vibe. The small vegan trinkets for sale make it a happy place for vegans. The abundance of plants made me so happy that I had to take one home. This review was last updated on May 27, 2022.

The vegan egg and cheese-ownada is so good, they also make a cocktail lesson today, but I would still go to breakfast and coffee

Menu was a little confusing so photos on here helped. Donuts were almost sold out by Sunday afternoon so get there early if you want donuts.
