Avaliação da contribuiçãoThe Virginian used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I come once a year to vacation in Wyoming all the way from Missouri. I always look forward to eating here. Unfortunately this year I learned that The Virginian was under new management and you can definitely tell. My favorite item on the menu is the truffle Mac N’ Cheese and prime rib. The new menu no longer has the truffle Mac n’ cheese. Instead you get the choice of instant mashed potatoes, baked potato or rice. My prime rib was tough and seemed small. The cheesecake was the only good thing. Oh and who charges for rolls!? My family unfortunately wasted over $240. We will not be back.
This restaurant in Buffalo is truly magical and unique! We had a fantastic dinner, enjoying mashed steak and asparagus. Kudos to the chef! It was the best dining experience we've had in America. And to top it off, we were pleasantly surprised by the saloon next door with its fantastic live country music and incredible atmosphere. Highly recommend this place! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Never seen such basically unfriendly service (ladies). At the beginning we thought whether they had „smoked something“. Any politeness we saw so far in the US was absent or at least could be perceived in this way. Later it got a bit better with one of the two, but the second was still and basically unfriendly. One service clerk, serving bread, walked around with a face if he is beaten every minute. Sad for the good food and nice room (not the saloon). But for sure we would will not go in there again. I can spend my money simply better than there
I absolutely adore this place. The food is top-notch, the service is exceptional, and the ambiance of the 100-plus-year-old building is unique and charming. The portions are substantial, especially the delicious steaks. There are always specials available. Ample street parking is available, as well as parking behind the restaurant. There is also a public lot a short 3-4 minute walk north of the building. The only drawback is that they are only open on weekends, so I highly recommend making reservations.
I had high hopes for dining at The Saloon, but when I called for reservations, I was informed that only the "fine" dining area was open for reservations, not the Saloon. So, we decided to eat at The Virginian instead. Unfortunately, the service, hostess, and manager were all in disarray. We ordered drinks, apps, salads, and entrees, but had some issues with our orders. The Caesar salads were not made with garlic, anchovies, or salt and pepper, and the Elk "medallions" were not flash fried as advertised. The potstickers were dry and undercooked, and the scallops were just okay. When we finally received our check after a long wait, the manager sarcastically asked if there was a problem. I mentioned that the food was terrible and the service was lacking, and the manager rudely told my wife and I to never come back. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I would recommend looking for better restaurants elsewhere. Wishing you happy travels.
