Baita Gherdeccia - CANAZEI

Very well for a lunch, located on the slopes, very beautiful panorama, tipical interior. good kitchen, professional service, correct price.

Despite the shelter is very nice and also partly characteristic, the dishes offered are of average quality but the prices really high and higher than the average. sin, because the staff of the refuge is very courteous.

Every afternoon befor we would start our descend to Canazei we would stop for après ski on this sunny terrace to enyoj great bombardino and gin tonic whic were great. The terrace is huge and has planty of afternoon sunshine which made everything so much more special. Great views of surrounding Belevedere ski area, and great stop to make memorable pictures with majestic Dolomiti in the background. It is self serviced bar but staff were nice and efficient and always cleaning outside tables.

A tried and tested venue. Plenty of seating inside and out. Self service for drinks and I had the hot chocolate which is of the rich and thick variety, needed the cream just to water it down! Staff genial and as always you’ll find the WCs downstairs.

After trying out several nice huts with good food we one day ended up at baita gherdaccia. It was a long que to order the food and the food ordered was disappointing. We had pork with sourkrout which gave a bad aftertaste, the goulasch had probably 4x the amount of water that should be there. Portions were small but we still had to leave some. Fortunately we were soon hunted of by the staff.
