Avaliação da contribuiçãoDespite its small and inconvenient exterior, don't be fooled - the food at this place is truly authentic and delicious. They serve the best nasi lemak, beef rendang, and seafood dishes. I highly recommend it!
The chicken curry was bland and reminiscent of Singaporean style, while the squid dish was also lacking in flavor, despite the sambal being tasty. The Sayur-Lodeh was unremarkable and tasted better in Indonesian cafes in Victoria Park. The rendang was okay, but did not leave a lasting impression. Overall, the food was not worth the high prices. I was disappointed and will not be returning to this restaurant. I also question why people call it nasi padang when it's really nasi campur. I prefer to stick to more authentic options.
I visited the restaurant several times and each time I was the only orang puteh (white man) at the place that shows for me that eating is real nasi padang as she would find in malaysia or Indonesia. the Malaysians and bruneians. I really enjoyed eating. if they are not familiar with this type of food, simply order a plate and try to contain each of the seven or so dishes.
The following week, I returned with seven more friends and we ordered two platters for two. Although Ricefield offers platters for three and four, we decided to share among four people at each end of the table. Everyone was satisfied with the delicious food and great value for money. On my way to the airport, I stopped by for one last meal. I will definitely come back to Ricefield when I visit Perth again, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic home-cooked food.
