Avaliação da contribuiçãoEnjoyed an amazing dinner here. Loved all the different courses offered, very small portions given but nonetheless every dish came out plated beautifully and delicious! It’s on the pricier side. A place worth checking out with it’s amazing chef’s and exceptional drink menu. Service was quick and fast, our waitress was very knowledgeable and explained the menu and options for us.Unfortunately didn’t take any pictures which I wish I would have, will have to come back to try out this lovely restaurant again!
Went into this cute little joint today. First impressions are that it 's small and hot! If they had air conditioning.. it wasn 't on. I left with all my clothes sticking to me. We ordered the fresh pasta, mushroom 'steak ' and gnocchi, popcorn chicken, and carrot cake French toast with London fog ice cream for dessert. The fresh pasta was good but it wasn 't anything special. It came with a tomato sauce a little bit of some sort of cheese. It was pretty simple and lacked flavour. The mushroom 'steak ' with gnocchi, which is a portobello mushroom and contains no steak, was absolutely incredible. So so good. It was bursting with flavour and made us same 'mmm ' with every bite. The popcorn chicken was meh. It kinda tastes like a fried chicken ball you would get at a Chinese food restaurant. We got the dill sauce to go with the popcorn chicken and the sauce was really good. Lastly, the carrot cake French toast with London fog ice cream was incredible. The French toast was soft and flavourful, and the ice cream was so good I could have ate a whole bowl of it. Together, it was a magical duo. The service was very good as well, and I always had water in my class. Overall, I would definatly recommend north 53.
The brunch game in Edmonton is blowing up and I am so glad. Lazy unproductive Sunday with grumbling stomachs led to the decision of trying the new brunch menu at North 53. <br/ Having been wanting to try North for quite some time now, it was a great opportunity to see the space during the day!<br/ <br/ Offering a more casual atmosphere, dinner menu is meant to be shared within your dining partners while they also have an extensive drink menu. Also had one for brunch) no shame in drinking at 11am on a sunday) Inside is very spacious, looking to be more narrow than wide. The stretched bar is pretty impressive, running from the entrance to the back squeezing in a lot more bar seatings. North also has the most eye catching color scheme I’ve seen in awhile, the detail mixes seamlessly with grey tiled backsplash transitioning to wood than more of a sophisticated glossy black up on the ceiling. Playing with both color and texture. Totally in love with the design. <br/ <br/ Service was off and on, she seemed to be the only server and was responsible for seating and hosting each tables. Mind you, we got there around 1130 and there was only 3 other tables and she still asked if we had a reservation. Probably safe to say it’s usually busy and probably a good idea to make a reservation in advance. She was friendly though and no complaints since the food came out pretty quickly. <br/ <br/ Fried Chicken and Sweet Grits $11) 3/5 Not the best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted, but I’ll give props on the crispness of the skin, and the portion. Honestly, the chicken just needed more seasoning, was very bland. The grits on the other hand was delicious, creamy and rich with meaty bites of sausage, definition of comfort food is right.<br/ <br/ Pork and Oats $14) 4/5 I only got a bite of this but the pork belly tasted sooo good. The pork belly had a very strong flavor from the maple soy sauce marinade topped with a gorgeous color, great presentation. <br/ <br/ Old Bay Cheddar Biscuit $2) ⅖ Added this since I was dreaming of the biscuits from red lobster. Sadly enough, the half of the biscuit I had was disappointing to say the least. Firm browned exterior, somewhat flakey interior but not a lot of flavor going on, relying mostly on the glop of butter.<br/ <br/ Wasn’t blown away with the dishes from brunch but i’m not deterred! <br/ Will not be back for brunch, but this visit has bumped up my anticipation for dinner at North 53.
I was extremely impressed with everything here and not just because I'm the biggest sucker for the smoky wood stove smell. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and timely. The drinks were creative and delicious, the ambience was quiet enough to have a conversation but loud enough to hear some rad music. And also there were no tv's! Can't wait to go back!
Love the interior! This place has such a cool vibe and their drink menu is awesome. My party and I tried several of their cocktails and every single one was delicious! The food was so so... each dish was just missing something. The bulghogi game hen had some good components the hen was delicious, the crispy mushrooms were good too, but the kim chi pancakes were very soggy from the sauce, a maple gojujang sauce (for those that don't know, gojujang is a Korean hot pepper paste). The sauce was okay. I just think the whole dish could have been executed better. The kibbeh meatballs tasted overwhelmingly like cumin, just not good... and I typically like cumin. I will be back though, I would like to try their other menu items!
