Avaliação da contribuiçãoThis is part of a large Edmonton chain of large coffee houses. The lunch menu is really extensive. The selection of the hot drink is diverse
I have always loved Remedy from the moment I moved to Edmonton 7 years ago, they have supported as often as possible throughout the years, but tonight has never wanted me back. I was out for a walk with my friend that I hadn't seen for a long time that we wanted to stop to take a drink to go on the way. I haven't eaten anywhere since the pandemic began, I had only delivery or execution, never needed my proof of vaccine, so I didn't even think I needed it, but I was gone tonight because I had no proof for me. It was so embarrassing that my friend had to buy my drink for me because I wasn't allowed for 5 minutes. I felt like a second class citizen. I understand that companies are trying their best to ensure the safety of their cartridges (which really should do the vaccine itself), but this is ridiculous.
Remedy Café was okay. If you are already in the area and you want to meet someone for coffee, then Remedy is not a bad choice. Is it good enough to go out or take someone special? No. Probably not. My chai latte was better than average compared to a place like Starbucks – and simple 4 stars. Is the best I ever had? No, but it's definitely better than most. It seemed quite clear to me that they really care about the quality of their product. The quality of the service was not so good and would be assessed as a two-star under-average experience. It is not that the staff was rude or lazy, they were civilian, but indifferent, for the customer. They feel welcome, show joy in service, and proud of their work were all remarkably vanished. Who knows? Maybe they all went through a terrible tragedy the day before. All I know was that you couldn't buy a smile for a hundred dollars when I was there. The quality of the atmosphere was also a two-star experience – definitely under the average. It was quite obvious that this *used* was a trendy little coffee shop, but the years were not friendly and the place was not well maintained. Small things like holes in the walls, chips in color, mismatched light bulbs, mismatched chairs and worse than average level of cleanliness show that creating a good environment to share a cup with a friend, here was not a high priority. Overall, Remedy Café was a good experience. Better than average drinks in a worse than average environment. Not bad, but not brilliant.
On Thanksgiving weekend on the way back from Jasper we decided to stop here for a quick bite. Unfortunately, all tables of students, computer work. Often a person on a 4 person table. Since there were six of us, we had no way to go out. |I think this place has to do a long table or window bench where those who want to sit for hours can do this leave tables open to people who want to eat.
I love Remedy and am a loyal customer. Their drinks are amazing and you can't go wrong with any of their Chai drinks. However, this location is EXTREMELY cold in the winter. You can ask to turn the heat up but they never do. The lighting is not great. The music is average at best. Of course, the food and beverages are great but is it worth such an unimpressive environment to work or study in?
