Or maybe you'll feel like an Asian food, such as agitated fries or fried rice, would do the trick. Or, maybe you are jonesing for some top help ceviche and a pisco sour (pro-tip: try the one with maracuya). Well, my friend, if you happen to be somewhere near Medellin or Envigado, Colombia, you are in some SERIOUS luck. It is a little known historical fact that, as in the USA, Chinese workers once helped build the huge network of railways in Peru, South America, a rich influence of Asian culture and food there, among other places around the world. Those of us who have the pleasure of eating in Peru wok are the blessed recipients of this heritage. At Peru Wok you will find satisfying traditional Latin taste with beautiful Asian accents, an ineffective variety of crafts (as used over, as this word is in these days) ceviches and delectable cocktails (like the maracuya pisco sour). Also on the menu are delicious soft drinks, as well as (such as Chicha and yerba buena). I only wished that shopping malls (like the Viva in Envigado, where we dined tonight at Peru Wok) had everything near what we experienced in Peru Wok. Do not hesitate to stop at one of their locations if you ever have the chance.
My wife and I broke up on our way back to Rionegro. The restaurant is one of several restaurants in the new Mall Viva de Las Palmas on the main route to Medellin International Airport. And with the relatively high price of a meal in this Peruvian restaurant, the business model of the restaurant seems to capitalize on the many hungry tourists and businessmen and the airport. The restaurant is a restaurant in the shopping centre. Although not terribly large, the restaurant has many seats with plenty of space between the tables. Although the restaurant is comfortable, it is by no means romantic or even cozy to be in a shopping center and exposed to the noises of the traffic on Via Las Palmas. I ordered a shrimp and pasta au Gratin dish while my wife ordered the seafood and rice plate. We waited about 35 minutes until our meals come from the kitchen. I suppose it was because the cook was very concerned to prepare us an unforgettable gourmet menu. Both dishes were pretty good (I tried some of my wife's fish rice. But in my humble opinion, the meal for two was not worth the price we paid... 95,000 pesos or 33 US dollars. If the prices were a little more consistent with local restaurant prices, I could eat here again.
We visited Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. and ordered a ceviche and a choir. Our food came back almost immediately, which it was suspicious. The food wasn't fresh at all! The keviche was dried and looked when she waited there for someone to order. The Chaufa was greasy and obviously had reheated, who knows how many times. Service? The worst part of it. Horribler customer service. Rude waiters and not professional at all to say the least. Would NOT recommend!

Although the restaurant is comfortable, it is by no means romantic or even cozy being in a mall and exposed to the sounds of traffic on Via Las Palmas. I ordered a shrimp and pasta au gratin dish while my wife ordered the seafood and rice platter. We waited about 35 minutes for our meals to come out of the kitchen. I assume it was because the chef was taking great care to prepare us a memorable gourmet meal. Both dishes were pretty good (I sampled some of my wife's seafood rice.) But, in my humble opinion, the meal for two was not worth the price we paid... 95,000 pesos or $33 US. If the prices were a bit more consistent with local restaurant prices, I might consider dining here again.
