I recently dined at Cucina Massi in downtown Frederick, MD, and it was truly a 5-star experience! From start to finish, everything about this Italian restaurant was outstanding.First and foremost, the food was exceptional. Each dish was bursting with authentic Italian flavors, and I couldn’t get enough of their pasta dishes, especially the lasagna. The quality and taste of the ingredients were top-notch, and it’s evident that the chefs here are passionate about their craft. Best tomato sauce we have ever had!But it wasn’t just the food that impressed me; the service was equally remarkable. Our attendant, Ervin, was simply awesome. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. His recommendations were spot-on, and he truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The atmosphere at Cucina Massi is another highlight. The restaurant exudes a cozy and inviting ambiance, perfect for a romantic dinner or a family gathering. It’s a place where you can relax and savor your meal without feeling rushed. Seat in the back if weather is good.Cucina Massi is a gem in downtown Frederick, offering the best Italian food, impeccable service by people like Ervin, and a delightful atmosphere. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough, and I’ll definitely be returning soon!
We went to Cucina Massi to try someplace we hadn’t gone to yet. The food was decent, but I don’t think anyone in our group felt compelled to return anytime soon. The portions are pretty large, and the pasta dishes we had were good but not great. Manalu is way better, in my opinion. The tables are not very comfortable. Our waiter did a good job, and the restaurant wasn’t super busy when we were there.Parking: You can park on the street if you happen to find a spot, or park in one of the garages near by.
Took the whole family, and wow, did we have fun! Our server is a saucy woman who made it fun she is also the mixologist! Large assortment of cocktail suggestions. We sampled many over the 2 hour meal! Tried a variety of dishes from apps to soups and salads, to pastas, and finally the much touted, homemade tiramisu. Everything was terrific. Can't wait to return and sit outside when it isn't raining!
We were a bit disappointed last night celebrating my fathers birthday at Cucina Massi. Nidos was a former long time family favorite so we had high hopes of a positive experience. However our entire party was left shocked at the lack of costumer service and communication. Our waitress was negative and seemed like she didnt enjoy her job. When she saw we had children at our table, she seemed annoyed. She made a few comments throughout dinner that left my family speechless. My party of 8 was crammed at a small table in tight quarters. Meanwhile, I had called twice prior to leading up to the evening asking if they could accommodate my large party and they said if we came at 5 they could. We arrived a little earlier than 5 just to be sure we were early but were still crammed into a small table in a small dining room with no apology. On top of this, we were charged a hefty fee to cut my fathers cake. Being in a family who runs and operates over 35 restaurants, we know the importance of loyal customer service and willingness to work with families, especially in joyous moments like celebrations. Luckily, we felt the food was delicious but out overall experience was tainted and we will not be recommending or returning.
