Avaliação da contribuiçãoI found Bar Orient a couple of weekends ago when it was raining heavily, so we decided to stop for a beer (just in time for happy hour at 12pm!) We ordered some delicious chips, a kids Parma, and a beef brisket burger. Everything felt homely and comforting. The peppercorn sauce is the best I have ever had in Fremantle, and I have lived here for 4 years! The Beer Of The Month pints for $8.50 are great, and the atmosphere is laid back and nice. I definitely need to come back for The Monday Club and see how it is!
I recently enjoyed ribs and a salad at this restaurant for $10 each. The meal was decent, and the atmosphere was peaceful for lunch with minimal traffic. We opted to sit outside where we were entertained by the antics of the seagulls.
I will never eat at this restaurant again. The food was terrible - we didn't even finish our appetizers. We waited 40 minutes for our food, and the calamari was as tough as rubber. The cucumber in the salad was not even suitable for a snail.
Went to see a Fringe Fest gig with good first impressions. Alas, the gig was over before our food arrived. We inquired during intermission but were told it was still on its way. In all? A 2hr wait for very mediocre pizzas. They said they had run out of large pizza bases so were giving 2 smalls for those who ordered large. I guess that means they don't make their own? Drinks were expensive too at $14.50 for a glass of house white and a middy of Creatures beer.
Found on thehappiesthour.com advertising $15 steaks on Monday nights 5-9pm. We drove from Como to Fremantle for the steak and then when we arrived at 7:30 we were told that they're out of steak. I ended up having the parmigiana and my partner had the $15 deal with chicken taking the place of the steak. The meals were both generously sized, tasty and came out fairly quickly. There was a musician performing this (Monday) night and he was very good, we ended up staying a fair while after our meal to watch. I then ordered a long island iced tea after being given the cocktail recipe sheet instead of a drinks menu, which was far too strong, we ended up giving it back to the bar staff to fix which they happily did by adding more coke and ice. Overall the staff were attentive and friendly but perhaps might need some cocktail training (just a friendly suggestion). Despite being disappointed about the lack of steak we had a nice evening due to the lovely musician, nice staff and good food.
