Sanjin - Furano

We were shooed away at the door. Quite surprised that they wouldn't even allow us to wait for a empty table. Very cold and not welcoming at all. Don't think we will even try again. Sad.

This place gets crazy busy and doesn't take reservations. But have the patience to wait and you'll be well rewarded. Tonkatsu was tender and juicy. The beef for the sukiyaki was beautiful! All at great value!

Beautiful restaurant, my partner and I got the Pork Tonkatsu and Crab Croquette. It is run by a wonderful Japanese husband and wife who are the only 2 people working in the restaurant. They are simultaneously cooking, serving drinks, taking orders, clearing tables. It’s incredible! Very impressed. The restaurant is cash only, and the nearest ATM is approx. 800m away down the hill so come prepared! The menu is written in English as well which was very helpful. All around a great experience!

We had Sukiyaki and hot Japanese sake there. Everything was perfect! Love the food and service! Highly recommended:

Went there for dinner, was told it was 30min wait for a table, told the waitress we were going to the 7/11 and coming back to which she agreed. When we returned in 20min she then said there were no more tables for the night. After we told her about the arrangement earlier she asked us to wait around for 15min before the boss came and repeated that there were no more tables for the night. Returned the next night earlier and got a table, food was pretty great. Got the tonkatsu, very tender and juicy with thick panko crumbs. Unfortunately the table service is almost non existent which let's down this otherwise great kitchen.
