Avaliação da contribuiçãoI've gone to Niche probably 5-6 times since moving in on the next street over and every time has just been okay; until tonight. After waiting at least 30 minutes for a table at 5pm let me add, we waited another 20 to get waited on. Now i know that Niche is "always busy" but it was 5PM! The waitress assured us our food would be out in 30 minutes. Let's just say it took 1 hour and 15.. Oh and best part, I ordered the Greek salad which was a whopping $12.95 and was literally half a head of romaine lettuce and 3 olives. I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a restaurant that is supposed to be one of the better one in Halifax... Let's just say, I won't be going back.
We sat out on the patio and it took our server a long time to bring us a menu, to get us some water, to take our order, ....There were 2 other servers on the patio and they were faster than a speeding bullet. We did regret sitting in the slow moving area.My hubby actually flagged one of the other servers down to ask for a refill on his drink. The food was okay, nothing great. When it came time to pay, the bill arrived promptly and the server actually hovered around to see what tip amount she would get. Sorry, but I do tip well for great service only.....With all the other places to eat and drink in Halifax I would think people relying on tips would make an extra effort.
This place serves $4 pints of Alexander Keith's every evening. Best deal in town. It has a huge patio which is always full--great atmostphere--and there servers and bartenders are dealing with the volume well. I only ate fries here, which were tasty.
The place is fantastic! Service is superb and prices (specially the drinks) are super cheap! We used to be regulars there to the point that we had our own table. The waitresses are the best. Service is always fast and the drinks always perfect. Food is really fine and food prices are acceptable. The best time to visit is during the summer when there is a big game on the big screen outside. You enjoy the atmosphere even if you're not a sports fan. Weekends are crowded there and sometimes the waiting list is so long to the point that it could take and hour to get a table but it's worth it! There is always happy hour of some sort and you get to meet all sorts of interesting fun people of all ages ( it's great if you're a student ).I recommend it strongly
Went with friends for drinks and food, and waited ages for service. When I mentioned to the bartender I was waiting for service, we finally got a server sent around to us. The burger I got was dried out and the bun was burnt. When I mentioned this to the server, I was told "That's how we do burgers in Canada -- well done". This confused me, firstly because I'm from Canada, and secondly because dried out burgers are not Canadian standard. We waited 15 minutes after the server told us he would get our bill, and eventually just went up and paid ourselves. Never going again to this place.
