Avaliação da contribuiçãoMy family and I recently visited The Anchor for the first time, based on recommendations from a couple of foodie friends. I ordered the arrancini and the burger, both of which were delicious. However, I was surprised that the burger came with minimal toppings, just a few pickled vegetables. Despite being messy, the burger had a tasty slice of pork belly. Unfortunately, my husband's chowder did not meet our expectations. The dill flavor was too strong and the potatoes were slightly undercooked, leaving him disappointed. Our kids struggled to find something they wanted on the menu and settled for French fries, which were tasty but the aioli sauce had an overwhelming amount of lemon juice. Despite these issues, I would still recommend trying some dishes on the menu, such as the donair ravioli. However, I might not bring the kids back as they prefer pasta from Lafrasca.
I had a great time at this restaurant! The menu is creative and the food is amazing. My favorites were the arancini and cheeseburger wontons. The Caesar menu was also fantastic - I had a dill Caesar that was probably the best I've ever had. The service was excellent, with friendly staff. The musician playing that night was really good too. Overall, it was an awesome experience and I can't wait to go back when I'm in Halifax again!
I just can't get enough of this spot! It's unique, the staff and owners are welcoming and let me tell you, that menu is a complete home run! #NailedIt -- Thank you goes out to the staff at the Anchor for celebrating my birthday back in March, which ironically enough landed on Halifax Burger Week. We stopped at around 7 spots in Halifax during Burger week and The Anchor was absolutely THE BEST BURGER IN TOWN! Great selection of tap beer and happy to have a warm, welcoming spot to go to on the weekends that isn't right downtown Halifax. Great job to the team! Love the events you have during each evening! #HomeRun
I've been to The Anchor 4 times now and every time I go I am even more impressed than the previous visit. The food is creative, delicious and their menu has something for everyone. (There are vegan friendly options too!)The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming and comfortable. Great for small or larger groups.I love the live entertainment! Local artist features for great music while dining. They also offer trivia nights and often will so custom dinner and entertainment events too.My favourite thing about the anchor though is the people. You can tell the staff love their jobs and the service is always spectacular. The owners truly love what they do and you can see it in every aspect of The Anchor.Next time you are in the area you must go! You will not be disappointed!
I went here last night with my husband and two other couples after reading a positive review in the coast. We arrived at 5 o'clock the place was sparsely inhabited however despite there being any open tables we were told that they were reserved for 7 o'clock. One of the servers try to assist us in moving the tables and was told by the other server that this was not possible. They did find a table with the stipulation that we must be gone by seven. At 5:30 we still did not have our drink order. When we asked again it was brought promptly. Waiting over 1/2 hour for a drink mostly empty restaurant is a little sketchy. The menu was eclectic arrangement. I had the Brussels sprouts minus the prosciutto it was OK. I had their french fries and they're pretty average. The margarita pizza was more of a flatbread ,exciting not. Hamburgers came with no salad or fries. There are two couples are local and might try it later and see if it improves with service. We were out at seve. Two hours for a mediocre meal at gourmet pricing range .....I am under whelmed.
