Avaliação da contribuiçãoSorry to break it to you all, but Jeffrey's Bistro is permanently closed. This was a cool local boozy brunch spot by the same owners of grove square bar. At nights it was a popular local hangout. But after the pandemic this became one of those locals businesses that was impacted by alot of changes. So, if you want to go here, search for its new iteration, Grove Station, instead. Its everything the bistro was, just smaller. And if you want more details i wrote about it on my nightlife blog @alwaysthevip
Absolutely not. Just no. No. .....nah. Not even a yes. Like why did I try the food? Biggest regret of my week. Just no.
Never, ever again ! Never. Covid review The food was bland and thrown together. They had the audacity to serve me on paper plates with plastic forks!!! What in the entire F ! I get it ...we're in the mist of a global pandemic, the restaurant business has been hit hard. But don't play your customers like that Jeffrey! If you serve guests like how they served me, then I expect my bill to look the same way...CHEAP! Never ever again! Never.
Walked by here several times before giving it a shot. There was a great happy hour special of 1/2 off appetizers. The small print is you can get only 2 at that special price. We had mussels, wings, calamari, and truffle fries. Everything was slightly above average. It's bar food. They bring your food out as soon as it's ready, so everything was hot. Service was fantastic. He checked on us every 5 or so minutes, but didn't interrupt, just walked to the table and looked to make sure everything was okay. We also had drinks. They were also 1/2 off. However, they did not skimp on the alcohol. Best I've had in Jersey City, and at $6, unbeatable. Needless to say, I will definitely be returning in the near future. Strong possible I'll become a regular.
This complaint is about the coffee shop/corner bistro/corner bar or whatever name it now has. The bar has an arbitrarily enforced discriminatory dress code designed to keep POC out. On top of that- I had 2 friends who DJed there and both were told not to play certain music so they wouldn't attract a certain kind of crowd. Now we all know that is code for keeping black and brown people out. Hip hop/rap was discouraged from being played by the DJs. This was four years back but I've been taking my business elsewhere. Also- I went to celebrate a birthday here back in 2015 and one of my friends was hit over the head with a glass bottle by a bar patron that the bar over served. I mentioned this to the owner- Jeff- while my friend was in the ambulance and he truly did not care.
