The Rose is my closest local Chinese restaurant, and it's great for what it isIts not high on ambience or atmosphere, but is clean.

I love how I can go back to this Chinese restaurant a few years after I have lived in the area and there food is still as good as ever.

What is nice about this place is the atmosphere. No matter if you order a meal worth $5 or $50, you get the same, patient, gracious treatment by the staff. The times I have been in, the staff has been in with their kids or something similarly homely usually with them doing some notes on a table while one of the staff members folds napkins or the like a chair over, getting up to go check on their patrons every couple of minutes. Other times, when it is calm and otherwise just staff and yourself, they'll come over and talk to you if you like, or just work at the counter to be present in the room. I've never had bad service, seen anyone with their mask on incorrectly, or been given a dissatisfying dish. If you are looking for a lunch spot in Westchester, this is a very relaxing place to dine.

As of February 2021, the restaurant is open for pickup only, allowing one customer inside at a time, and masks are required. The food remains as delicious as ever. I usually get takeout about once a week, and most of my orders are ready in under 20 minutes. It's always piping hot, which feels much safer than a cold deli sandwich or anything else that isn't freshly cooked. I really enjoy the food and feel safe eating here.
