Yamato Hibachi Sushi - Mount Selman

Don't let the pretty picture fool you. Looked wonderful when we got it our food. But on the sushi roll plate I moved a piece and found a live wiggling fly. Looked like it was deliberately placed there. So not coming back here and will be telling others not to come here also.

It was absolutely a dream never thought we would be able to find auck a nice sushi place this far out from civilization!? But it was absolutely amazing!!!

This is not the true hibachi style where they cook in front of you rather you order and the food is served a la carte style!The food was ok, miso soup was too salty but the tofu didn’t tasted fresh; the fried rice was blah, you can see the color is off; the green tea that we ordered was from a tea bag and not tea leaving so less not happy with that. We ordered the shrimp and scallops plate and filet mignon and chicken plate for reference.The ambience was old school with flashing light right at front.

Decided to try for ourselves after looking over the reviews. We are so glad we came in we will definitely return. This is going to be our new hibachi and sushi place. Don’t be fooled that it’s in Jacksonville –quality is great! We ordered the #13 Fried Superman. Highly recommend. Wheelchair accessibility: Long ramp.

I have lived in Jacksonville for over 10 years and decided to try Yamato because we were craving sushi. We can in around 8pm on a Tuesday night and it was very clean. Our food came out fresh and was delicious. Now if we want sushi we know we can just go around the corner for great food.
