Food food and more food. And fresh sushi. What more can you ask for??
Typical Chinese buffet with wide variety of choices from sushi, maki, seafood to salads, dimsum desserts. Price is reasonable.
This is the best buffet I've ever visited in the last 10 years. No, that's not an exaggeration. The reason I give this place so much praise is because of the staff: I have never seen employees on a buffet as attentive and proactive as those here in the Newark Buffet. Be it beverages, clearing plates, refill buffet dishes or refilling plates, there were employees everywhere at every table and station. Instead of smiling empty dishes, I had to tell my waitress not to take a plate, because there was still a small piece of food that came by as often as she did. When I got up to get ice, I came back to the check waiting on the table. The service here is ON IT, also in a lively night (which is quite every night). With regard to food, most products are fresh due to rapid sales and active refills. There were only a few things that I found as an unluster, but they were turned off before I finished eating. There?s a bit of all dimm sum, classic Chinese American dishes, seafood, sushi AND sashimi, cold bar, salad bar to order Hibachi, desserts including egg tarts, and of course the ubiquitous ice cream machine. Oysters are definitely the most popular here. They are less often refilled, and if they have a huge line shapes immediately with any person who has at least 3. If you really want to try it, I suggest waiting on the tray or sitting somewhere where you can see it. Overall I spent $30, including tip on a busy Tuesday night. Given the selection and service, I would say it is worth it.
Showed up right at 11am when they opened. Thursday lunch buffet and everything was cold or room temperature. We thought we'd give it a chance but it's worse than the reviews give it credit for. It would appear the food is set out cold and expected to warm while on the buffet. While I did not see a rat in the blinds I did have lettuce of some kind stuck to my spoon, clear as day. I am now a believer in the many people who recommended not coming here. Go get 1 good hearty meal anywhere else for less than $19.
