Benny Ventano's - Richmond

Pizza made with love, super friendly staff. Heck, I saw a lady with her baby try to carry a pizza and a baby? Some fella working there carried the pizza for her! And the selection of sodas is awesome too, they even had my favorite! Super tasty and I'm a sucker for a big pizza! 11/10; will be back again!

Hate to give a bad review because the pizza was good. The problem was hair. Over the course of 2 slices, my girlfriend and I found 5 hairs in our pizza (from different people/parts of the body). The hair was baked into the cheese/dough.We aren't normally weird about that stuff, but it was an unacceptable amount of hair. How can you enjoy a pizza when you're looking for hair? We ended up wasting $40 because we can't bring ourselves to eat the remaining 6 slices. Maybe our experience was a fluke but it ruined our meal.

I was actually surprised to see bad reviews on this place, but then I remembered where I was at. I’m from New Jersey and this reminds me of home. I’ve been seeking actual good pizza out here and the recommendations have been pretty … not pizza? As a tristater, this has been the best so far.The thin crust was just like the boardwalk pizza of my childhood, the cheese was definitely a blend of mozz and white Vermont (or parmigiana), and while the sauce was a little light, the flavor was ?If you’re a fan of Mac and Mankos from OC and the jersey shore, this place will make you feel at home.

The cheese had an odd cheddar like funk to it that distracted from the flavor of the sauce and crust. Not terrible, but not enjoyable if you're expecting a more neutral flavored cheese and want to actually taste the other elements of the pizza.

I recently visited Benny Ventano's with a friend, primarily attracted by their well reviewed pizza. The food did live up to our expectations each slice was flavorful, the crust was perfectly cooked, and the toppings were generous and fresh.However, our experience was marred by the poor customer service. The individual at the counter seemed noticeably unenthusiastic and slightly irritated, even when asked basic questions or for standard service. It seemed as if the basic tenets of customer service were being overlooked.The restaurant operates a self seating system, which generally isn't a problem. However, on this particular visit, the tables were not cleaned or sanitized before or after we sat down, which was something we noticed was the case for other guests as well.Furthermore, the restrooms were in an unacceptable state. Both were permeated with a strong odor of urine, and they had not been cleaned in what appeared to be quite some time. The toilet and the floor were visibly dirty. A trashcan in the corner was overflowing with paper towels and other trash, which only added to the overall unpleasantness of the situation.While the quality of the pizza at Benny Ventano's is undeniable, the lacking customer service and poor hygiene standards seriously detracted from our experience. I hope the management takes note and addresses these issues promptly, as the food itself is certainly worth ordering to go only.
