Avaliação da contribuiçãoI had high expectations for Maison Danel, a newly opened restaurant, but I was disappointed. Despite good food and service, my $6.50 glass of freshly squeezed orange juice was not filled to my liking and they were out of chocolate almond croissants. The menu seemed limited, with my eggs Benedict being good but not special, and my boyfriend did not enjoy his burger. While the neighborhood isn't my favorite, I would overlook it if the food was outstanding. The pastries were a highlight for me, as well as the excellent waiter, but there are better brunch spots in the city.
I absolutely loved the high tea at this restaurant! It was beautifully presented and the service was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly, and I would definitely return in the future.
My friend and I went to this restaurant for brunch on a Sunday. It was quite busy with just one waiter and the owner serving tables, both of whom were French. Although there were a few misunderstandings with my requests, the French toast was delicious and the European hot chocolate was excellent.
It was fine, not amazing. For the prices we paid, I was expecting to be wow'd.
Maybe my expectations were too high for the newly opened Maison Danel gave reviews and how difficult it was to get a table (I had to book over 2 weeks in advance) but I was disappointed. Do not take me wrong, the food and service were good, but my glass with freshly squeezed orange juice, which costs $6.50, was not even half full and they had no chocolate almond croissants in stock. I also found the menu to be quite limited (I have eggs Benedict with smoked salmon that were good but nothing special) like my BF (he ordered a burger he did not like). Neighborhood... not my favorite, but I would ignore it if food was amazing. My favorite part was their pastries, I'd be back on them, and our waiter was great, but there are much better places for brunch in the city.
