Yun Lai Ji - Shanghai

I ordered only two of the prepared chilled dishes to go: the kaofu and vegetarian duck both were pretty good. I should probably give this place 4 stars because it is not as if I were blown away, but then it is prepacked eating how good can that be, and I should not punish them for my choices. they also sell packed snacks, but note that few are vegan.

The soup was delicious, remember to keep her reception!

The food was delicious! located in the next building of the tempel, it has an extensive menu with many mock meat options. the employees do not speak English, but they have an English menu and they can easily show what they want. I had the mushroom teriyaki, who is honestly the best thing I eat in china. it comes on a hot sizzling plate and portion size is very generous. my man had the meatballs that were equally impressive. everything vegan and incredible. please go here when they are in shanghai, they will not be disappointed.

This is one of the vegan places attached to a Buddhist tempel. beautiful interieur, quiet, with a huge menu including pictures. nothing special here, but if they are in the opposite and want to lunch, this is a great place.

Enjoyed our lunch at Yun Lai Ji. Lunch menu is located on the wall and consists of noodle dishes. We highly recommend their wonton soup (Hundun; as it is their specialty. But you need to make sure you get there early before its sold out! The lunch menu is on the wall, and there are pictures. You pay at the desk after ordering before taking your seat. Note the restaurant is located through the gate on the east side of the main temple entrance. It looks as if you are entering the temple, but it is actually a separate building. The map location shown in the app is correct, but you will only see the name in traditional Chinese characters. The staff is quite friendly, but a little frightened that they might not be able to communicate with a foreigner, (they do not speak English). If you speak a little Chinese you shouldn't have any problem. We will definitely be back to try their dinner sometime!
