In my initial review, I had the Tuesday menu which included sunflower tarator moussaka, spinach meatballs with salad and sauce, and ice cream. The moussaka and spinach pâtés would have been improved if served hot instead of lukewarm. I particularly enjoyed the spinach pâtés and the accompanying sauce, although the moussaka was a bit bland and dry on top. The ice cream, containing berries that made it sour, could benefit from additional sweetness or a sweet sauce. Although the food received 4 stars, I rate the overall experience 5 stars due to the friendly service, authentic ambience, and reasonable prices. Everything was low carb, but I would appreciate more substantial portions to avoid leaving the restaurant hungry after a 4-course dinner.
This is my top pick for a vegetarian lunch spot in Sofia! The prices are great and the food quality is really high. I've visited a few times and have never been let down!
I came for the Sunday buffet. The food is so good, I don’t know how there wasn’t a line out the door of people waiting. Everything was fresh and delicious. There was quite a variety of food. The entrance is hard to find. I wish they would put a sign outside or instructions on their website on how to find the place.
One extra star for the price. I just don't think that it should mean that meals consist of not ok vegetables cooked in water with added powdered seasoning (as opposed to a proper sauce, fresh garlic onions herbs, spices, coconut milk in a coconut curry, etc. . So, no taste, and no substance, just in water overcooked vegetables, the zucchini were definitely old, the cauliflower the strangest I have ever (not eaten. Almonds, not all of them ok looking, added whole.... Bland white rice, no selection of healthier options. I left hungry, as was inedible, I had to force myself to have a few bites, no apology or offer from waiter. Every time got refused potatoes on the side. No fries, etc., no changes do dishes. I think with 1 customer in the place, one could be more flexible, and forthcoming. If you don't know how to cook curries or Aloo Ghobi then just don't. I wrote last summer (no answer from Restaurant, no reaction and explained in person months ago : the entrance is almost impossible to find, tried several times in vain, until I found it with help of locals, entrance dark, within the house also no sign, very unwelcoming, the children's painted furniture, too. Really wanted to like it. Give impression they could care less about having customers getting people in from the street, and serve satisfying food, a bit strange considering that at every visit, I (or we was the only customer there, with a bit of overlap of maybe 1 other party leaving. How do you have an attitude of not needing customers when there are 2 per hour at those (very good prices?! Never had daily special, as not in English, meals sounding strange or are out. Maybe also have smaller selection of dishes all taste the same anyways. Don't take cards, only cash.
