Indiana - Southend-on-Sea

I ordered takeout from this restaurant for the first time last night. I was extremely impressed with the food and the delivery service. I will definitely be ordering from them again and would highly recommend it.

The food and atmosphere at this restaurant were excellent. However, the service left much to be desired. Despite being the only table on a Sunday night and arriving early, we waited over an hour and a half for our food. The restaurant does not provide tap water, which would greatly improve customer satisfaction. The servers were hard to find, even with only one table seated. We were interrupted while placing our orders as the waiter had to take a phone call. Meanwhile, other customers came and went to pick up their takeout orders while we still waited for our food, making us feel less important. Additionally, the restaurant refused to provide us with an itemized bill, insisting we take a photo instead. Overall, the food was good, but the service needs significant improvement.

The Indiana was suggested to us as an excellent Indian restaurant. As Indian cuisine is my absolute favourite, I am always open to suggestions along those lines. There are very few Indian restaurants which I could endorse without some degree of adverse comment, but the Indiana excelled in every respect. The venue is uncluttered and very pleasant with a limited amount of tables so the ambient noise level is low. We were warmly welcomed and the bring your own booze explained as they do not have a drinks licence. (there is an off-licence a few doors away) I can only describe the food as superb and as close to the real thing as I have ever experienced outside India. Will we be back? Damn right we will!

We visited this restaurant through a special promotion and have dined there twice already, with another reservation for next week. The service is impeccable and the food quality is excellent. We will definitely be returning as the overall experience is outstanding. A great discovery in our neighborhood.

Had home delivery tonight. I think it may have changed a bit .It wasn’t just superb it was also excellent.
