Hometown Bbq Seafood - Troy

Haven't been here in years. It's 10 miles from where I stay when in NC. In on a Monday at 2 for a late lunch. ORDERED: Small chopped bbq sandwich, fries, slaw and a iced tea. Total 8 and change. Sandwich and fries came out cold and sent it back. The return was still not hot but at least it was warm. Fries were old and the sandwich was dry and had no flavor. No need to go back. This is a small town staple in Troy NC. Food is home cooked southern food for the most part. Great value, and I mean great value. Typically I purchase 2 meals consisting of a meat 2 sides dessert and typically just 1 jumbo sized drink for 1 person and can walk out of there spending generally less than $22 including tip. It will also depend on how much you order of course but the amounts of food are decent, good and served with a southern smile. The tea is definitely sweet so if you prefer it toned down add a little unsweetened to the order. But the sweet is the best! Desserts are also homemade, they gave daily specials and often run out of dishes that are popular. There is a all you can eat fried fish night (I don’t eat fish but hear it is good). And if course a great deal like every other thing in the menu. Go check out this unsung off the beaten path spot. They are open very early but closed in Sundays and I think Mondays. They deserve the couple of days off these people work hard to bring good and great value food to their patrons Vegetarian options: Veggies, salads but no protein for the Vegetarians I believe, unless you will eat fish as part of your diet Parking: Can get filled up but across the street is more parking if needed Kid-friendliness: Definitely Wheelchair accessibility: 1 level
