Thai Orchid - Vancouver

I have to say, it might have been a one-off experience, but the food looked amazing. Unfortunately, it tasted quite bland, almost like water. We both ended up questioning where all the seasoning had gone. Despite that, I would return for a second visit to give it another try. The spice level labeled as 4 didn’t have any heat for us, but again, it could have just been an off day. On the bright side, the portion sizes were fantastic!

Beyond the financial loss, we faced significant inconvenience, as both my spouse and I had to miss work, and our children missed school. We raised this issue with the manager, who initially expressed sympathy and promised to address the situation by offering a credit. However, after further discussion, she informed us that the owner refused to provide any compensation. The manager suggested we file a claim with their insurance company, implying that we had insufficient coverage. This was not only insensitive but also irrelevant, as we do have insurance. I conveyed my confusion and disappointment regarding the inconsistent information from the manager and emphasized the distress we experienced. It’s disheartening to see how your establishment handles customer complaints, especially when the problem clearly stems from your oversight. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

This is a fantastic Thai restaurant that also serves sushi. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is excellent. I highly recommend giving it a try! The dishes were delicious, but their "spicy" isn’t very hot, so I suggest ordering a level spicier than you usually would. I enjoyed the Thai tea as it wasn’t overly sweet, which was a plus for me. The sushi was surprisingly good quality, especially for the price. The ambiance is lovely, making it perfect for dates or a nice meal out. If you can, visit during happy hour—it’s worth it! I would definitely return to explore more of their menu!

I was waiting to be seated and an employee walked straight up to the two white people behind me who’d arrived after I did, greeted them, and took them to a table. So I just left.

Beautiful place. I love the reclaimed wood and bricks. The food was amazing.
