La Seye et Vous - Verfeil

We love visiting the unspoiled parts of southwest France. The scenery is very beautiful, the pace of life relaxed and the people friendly. The downside of the area is finding a good lunch for a reasonable price; this can be quite a challenge. A friend mentioned that new owners had transformed a local institution - 'Charleys' - into La Seye et Vous. Last Saturday we drove over to see how they were doing and we were delighted with what we found. The menu was short and interesting. The starters were superb, the mains very good and the local wine pleasant. The deserts on the daily menu were two of my favorites but these had sold out by the time we were ready to order. Unfortunately, the substitute was not something I particularly like (it served us right for arriving after 1pm - after all this is rural France!).Mark and Brice may not be working towards a dreaded 'star' but all in all, this is a friendly place with a young energetic chef and they delivered a good value luncheon. Given a little time to settle in (after all, they have been open only 12 weeks), this delightful little restaurant should build a loyal following - and we will be members of that group.

Very reasonable menu du jour including wine, desserts a bit disappointing but early days yet. Am sure it will do well with locals and ex-pats, and word of mouth.

With new owners and a new chef, our local gets better every time we visit it. We have eaten here about 4 times and also stopped by for a drink of an evening, always a welcome.

Ce petit restaurant vient d etre repris par de nouveau proprietaires bien sympathiques . La cuisine est a base de produits locaux et le menu offre plusieurs choix pour l'entree , le plat principale et le dessert. N hesitez pas a y aller si vous passez aux alentours de verfeil sur seye. La serveuse quand nous y sommes passe s appelait Blandine et s est bien occupe de nous.
