A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It only took me 10 to 15 years to figure it out and get here but woah. Wow. Wow. Wow. If you've spent any time in the pnw then you know...
I found the place almost randomly, scrolling Google Maps looking for a lunch place because we were heading down to see the trolls in at the South Coast...
“Hooked” recently back on the Island for a visit. Enjoyed the great chowder, fish and chips and the shellfish, two Saturday evenings. I first enjoyed going here back in the 80’s and 90’s when I had an office on Main Street. Moved the office to East Islip and continued to enjoy the food and staff till we left in 2013. Sometimes you can’t go home… in this case you can and enjoy it even more. Great food, staff and owners. Go here if you’re on the island. The best chowder for sure, keep it up ladies!
What happened to our Chowder Bar? This used to be a good place to get delicious food at a reasonable price. We walked in and the place was dirty and very un-inviting. None of the staff looked happy. It's no wonder that there weren't many people at the tables on this Wednesday evening. When a place looks this rundown, we have to wonder about the care put into the quality of the food. We ordered beers, but after that we just had to leave. It's just not what it used to be.
